Dorobucci’, #bringbackourgirls, Solange, Maya Angelou, Amaka Igwe hit top trends on Google in May

If you are a big fan of Don Jazzy, then you will love the newest Mavin Record single, ‘Dorobucci’, which has taken over Nigerian hearts and dance floors. Many however wonder what the word “dorobucci” means, perhaps, this is one of the reason why it tops the most searched topic on Google in the month of  May. Featuring Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid and other members of the Mavin crew, this new hit seems to have birthed a new kind of movement- “Doro-X”, where X can be anything.

The #bringbackourgirls campaign also got to the top list as it remains the biggest kidnap in the world, according to CNN. 276 female students were kidnapped Boko Haram, an Islamic Jihadist and Takfiri terrorist from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria and have been missing for over over 57 days.Though over 40 girls have been reported to have escaped, the search for the remaining girls —and the Nigerian government’s lagging response—has sparked both local and global outcries. Nigerians and the whole world is still on a look out to bring back these girls.

Other topic that made it to the Google top search list is the speech by Patience Jonathan,  Jos bomb blast which claimed many lives and the death of American poet Maya Angelou who died at age 86.

AMAKA IGWE, NOLLYWOOD PERSONALITY TOPS GOOGLE MOST SEARCHED TOPIC

To those who knew her, will agree that she had so much strength, passion, creativity, vision but she left this world with all she possessed to make a difference in Nollywood industry. The official announcement of Amaka igwe’s death aroused a lot of reactions online.  She suffered an asthmatic attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital after initial interventions failed.
