The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has recently replied to the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, reacting to the latest video containing threats to attack him.
According to Leadership, Muhammad Sanusi II disclosed his opinion about the threat during a Friday special prayer session held at the Kano City Central Mosque.
Sanusi said that he remained protected against any evil attack and nothing was going to happen to him except the will of Allah, the creator. He also repeated his earlier call on the general public to protect themselves against the attacks of the Boko Haram sect.
On Shekau’s position on attacking religious groups, Muhammad Sanusi II urged all Muslim faithful and the followers of Tijjaniyya, Qadiriyya and Izala religious movement to be vigilant and continue to guard themselves. He also called on the people to be vigilant and protect their mosques, churches, markets and hospitals against any attack.
In his opinion, people shouldn’t abandon their daily deals or desert places of worship because of the terror. Sanusi asked all not to succumb to fear and be their brothers’ keepers.
It would be recalled that over 120 worshippers lost their lives on November 28, 2014, as a result of terrorist attack on the Central Mosque in Kano.
Less than 2 weeks before the mentioned bloody attack Muhammad Sanusi II called on Nigerians to defend themselves against the Boko Haram extremists.
“People must not wait for soldiers to protect them. There are even instances where soldiers on ground ran away in the face of attack,” he said during prayers for peace in Nigeria on November 15, 2014 .
