Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have visited another Borno State village with terror, killing no fewer than nine people.

Sources in Maiduguri told Daily Sun that the insurgents surfaced at Huyim village in Biu Local Government Area, South of the state on Tuesday night, shooting into peoples houses and throwing explosives.

A resident, who claimed to have spoken with his relations, told Daily Sun that nine people died in the attack,

The insurgents had intensified attacks in remote communities and settlements in the southern part of the state in recent times as no fewer than 100 people had been killed in a month.

Last Monday, some Boko Haram members, who disguised as traders, attacked Dille near Lassa in Askira Uba Local Government Area, killing about 25 people. They also burnt down houses and churches, prompting the deployment of military fighter jet to the area to repel the attack.
