You may love Johnny Manziel or cringe every time someone brings up his name, but the Browns rookie quarterback is predictably selling a lot of jerseys.
Manziel's No. 2 Browns jersey is the top seller in the NFL for the first quarter of the league's fiscal year, ESPN.com reported. Manziel beat Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Denver quarterback Peyton Manning. Rams rookie defensive end Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by the NFL, came in sixth, ESPN.com said.

There might be some asterisks here because it seems like everyone in the Seattle area bought three Wilson jerseys long before Manziel was drafted in the first round by Cleveland (the No. 12 for Seattle's 12th Man ranks No. 10 on the list, so Seattle is buying jerseys in bulk after the Super Bowl win), but it's still a sign that Manziel will be a popular figure for this season and beyond. He doesn't even have a starting job yet – that still belongs to Brian Hoyer – but that's not stopping people from investing in his jersey. Hey, if it's good enough for LeBron James, it's good enough for the rest of us.
And if Manziel's buddy Justin Bieber starts rocking Johnny Football's jersey during his shows, look out. A whole new market might open up for the No. 2 Browns jersey.
Here are the top 10 jerseys, according to ESPN.com (and it must be nice to have a jersey store in Seattle): 1. QB Johnny Manziel, Cleveland
2. QB Russell Wilson, Seattle
3. QB Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco
4. QB Peyton Manning, Denver
5. CB Richard Sherman, Seattle
6. DE Michael Sam, St. Louis
7. QB Tom Brady, New England
8. QB Drew Brees, New Orleans
9. QB Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay
10. 12th Man, Seattle
