I’ll defeat Aregbesola, Omisore, says Akinbade

Akin
Alhaji Fatai Akinbade , the standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP) has said emphatically that he would defeat both the incumbent governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola  and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore at the August 9 poll.

Besides, Akinbade, who pointed out that the electorate were now wiser, said no amount of money doled out or any form of inducement could sway them.

According to his Director of Media, Mr Kayode Oladeji, the former state scribe said antecedents of each contender would be weighed, a situation he insisted, would give him an edge at the polls.

“The APC is a party of propaganda. For them, it is much noise but no action. This is why things have gone awry in the state today. As for Omisore and the PDP, theirs is a party of big names and chieftains without followers. Without sounding immodest, I enjoy tremendous grassroots support than  any one of them,” Akinbade boasted

The LP candidate said what stood him out among them was his pedigree which he averred, was imbued with experience and integrity.

“At one time or the other, and at different capacities, all  of us had cause to serve and be tested but the best of others have not been too good enough to our people and  that is why they are rooting for me to emerge as the next governor of the state from August 9,this year”

He said as a result of the overwhelming support he gets from the people, his opponents have been intimidated, saying,”This is why especially, the PDP and their supporters have been going to town with lies claiming I have gone back to them. They are just day-dreaming because I will never and can never have anything to do with the PDP in the state, particularly as regards  the coming  governorship election”

He maintained that with God and the support of the people of Osun State, nothing would stop him from contesting the August 9 election,”and by the grace of God, I will not only contest but defeat Aregbesola, Omisore and others”

Meanwhile, Akinbade has called on the people of the state to disregard the rumour linking him with Omisore or the PDP,” just because they know they cannot win, that is why they are using my name to campaign, but they have failed.”
